Speeding tickets... there's a first time for everything

Published on 01 November 2014 by Stefan Meens

In his first season in motor sport, a year in which he drove a Formula 3, Formula Renault 3.5 and Formula 1 car for the very first time, Max Verstappen received his first speeding ticket. During the first free practice session of the American Grand Prix, the rapid Dutchman was caught speeding in the pit lane. The maximum speed in the pits is 80 km/h with Max clocking 99.3 km/h at the Circuit of the Americas.

There is a first time for everything. Sadly this time it was rather expensive; 1000 euro penalty was handed out by the FIA.
