Max Verstappen reflected on his Eifel Grand Prix weekend with Ziggo Sport’s Pep Talk. Max bagged a strong second place at the Eifel Grand Prix. Despite the chances of a win appearing slim, the Dutchman remains positive: “I could get frustrated every weekend because I need to luck to win, but I have accepted the situation and I try to make the most of it. If I’m able to extract the most out of myself, I’m happy and I can enjoy it.”

Apart from P2, Max also scored a point for the fastest lap of the race. “I saw the quickest lap Lewis had set on the big TV screens so I knew what the target time was. Red Bull didn’t mention it, but I thought I had to try it. I didn’t think it would work so it’s extra nice to get it.”

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing brought several upgrades to the RB16 for the race held at the Nurburgring. “The updates work well, so we’re getting closer to Mercedes. Mercedes keep improving too so we have to keep working.”

The 2020 Formula 1 season features several new tracks, which Max enjoys: “A bit of variation is always good. A lot of the drivers have appreciated it.”

On Sunday 25 October, Portimao, Portugal, hosts the next Grand prix. In the meantime, Max has is schedule ready: “My trainer is here in Monaco so we’ll try to stay fit. In between I’ll try to enjoy some free time before heading to Milton Keynes on Thursday to prepare for Portimao in the simulator.”
