"Hungaroring is very short, pretty narrow, not so many straights and successive fast corners. It is a challenging circuit, where you need to make optimum use of the space on the track. Miss one corner, and pay the price in the following one. So it is essential to be in a good flow. I am looking forward to the race."

"Silverstone is an awesome track to drive. It's a very fluent circuit with a sequence of fast corners. Especially the section called Maggots and Becketts is fantastic. It's not an easy track to understand at first. The weather can be a bit strange and the crosswinds can make it really challenging, sometimes requiring completely different set-up from one session to the next."

The Mugello circuit is situated in the beautiful region of Tuscany, in northwest Italy, just 35 kilometres from the historic regional capital of Florence. Mugello is a swooping, undulating circuit that the drivers almost universally adore. Set in a valley, the natural topography makes a lap of the 5.245 km track a real rollercoaster ride, with the stomach-churning run through Casanova, Savelli and into Arrabbiata 1 and 2 a particular highlight. In other words, no first gear hairpins.

"I’ve never driven at Mugello, but it is a beautiful track. I’m looking forward to it because I think driving a Formula 1 car around Mugello, with all its fast corners, will be special. I’m expecting a lot of fifth and sixth gear corners, which is always great."

Imola – or the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari as it’s been known since 1988 – had its foundation stone laid in 1950. In 1980 the track was awarded the honour of hosting the Italian Grand Prix for the first time that year. The circuit is described as a ‘thrill ride’. The anti-clockwise circuit is certainly fast, with an old-school feel as the drivers put it on the line in iconic corners like the Acque Minerali and Piratella.

The circuit in Akfirat, around an hour’s drive east of Istanbul, designed by Hermann Tilke and costing $40 million, was ready in August 2005. Parts of the circuit have been compared over the years to similar features at Spa-Francorchamps, Interlagos and Laguna Seca. The crown jewel of Intercity Istanbul Park, however, remains turn 8, an incredibly fast, bumpy, multi-apex downhill left-hander that’s a proper test of drivers’ commitment.

"The Bahrain circuit is quite a challenge, but I think it is a fun track. Because of the wind and the sand, every lap feels differently, that makes it tricky. The kerbs also are something else: you either don't go there or take them full on. Driving at night under lights is without doubt special."

It will be a full night race and with such a short track the Sakhir GP will be an 87-lap race. The outer track takes in turns 1, 2 and 3 of the international track, before breaking away at turn 4 for a series of quick sweeps before re-joining the familiar track at turn 13.
